Protect Your Home with Expert Termite Control in South Florida

Termites are one of the most destructive pests in South Florida, causing thousands of dollars in damage before homeowners even realize there’s a problem. Whether it’s subterranean termites silently tunneling beneath your home or drywood termites hiding in the rafters, early detection and professional treatment are key. At Elite Inspections & Pest Solutions, we offer comprehensive termite solutions designed to eliminate existing infestations and protect your property from future damage.
We are the home of the always free termite inspection—whether you’re involved in a real estate transaction or simply curious about potential activity, we’re happy to take a look. No pressure, just answers.
Our licensed team provides a full range of termite control services, including liquid treatments for subterranean termites, D.A.T.s (Drywood Alternative Treatments) for spot infestations, full-home fumigations for advanced infestations, and The Sentricon® baiting system for ongoing protection. Each service is tailored to your home’s structure, infestation level, and long-term needs—because when it comes to termites, one size doesn’t fit all. Explore our treatment options below to find out how we can safeguard your investment with proven, industry-leading solutions.

Subterranean Termites: Silent Destroyers Beneath Your Home

Subterranean termites are the most aggressive and destructive termite species found in South Florida. Living in large underground colonies, they create intricate mud tubes to access food sources—often the wood in your home. These termites thrive in moist environments and can remain undetected for years, eating away at your structure from the inside out. The most common types in our region include Eastern Subterranean Termites and the highly invasive Formosan Termites, which form massive colonies and can cause extensive damage in a short amount of time.
Because they operate from below ground, subterranean termites can go unnoticed until significant structural damage has already occurred. Early detection and proactive treatment are essential to protect your home or business investment.

Termite Spray Treatments

A liquid termite spray treatment is one of the most proven and widely used methods for protecting structures against subterranean termites. Whether you’re building a new home or simply looking to prevent future infestations, this soil-applied barrier creates long-lasting protection by stopping termites before they can reach your structure.
We offer pre-construction treatments for builders and contractors that meet all code requirements in Florida. This application is performed during the construction phase—either before the slab is poured or around the perimeter of the foundation—to provide a protective barrier right from the start.
For existing homes, we also offer post-construction perimeter spray treatments. These are ideal for homeowners looking for general protection or a one-time preventative service. While not a substitute for bait systems or full inspections, a liquid spray can help deter termite activity and offer peace of mind when combined with regular monitoring.

The Sentricon® Termite Baiting System: Smart, Targeted Protection from the Inside Out

The Sentricon® System is a scientifically advanced and environmentally responsible solution for eliminating subterranean termite colonies—including the aggressive Formosan and Eastern Subterranean species. Rather than creating a chemical barrier like traditional sprays, Sentricon uses strategically placed bait stations around your property that intercept foraging termites in the area. Once termites feed on the bait and bring it back to the colony, it disrupts their growth cycle and leads to complete colony elimination, including the queen.

Sentricon is ideal for both residential and commercial properties and can be installed with minimal disruption to landscaping. It provides continuous protection through ongoing monitoring and replenishment by our trained professionals. Unlike spray treatments, Sentricon doesn’t degrade over time from rain or soil movement—making it a smart long-term solution for year-round termite defense. Whether you’re dealing with an active infestation or want proactive protection, Sentricon delivers proven results with less impact on your home and the environment.

Drywood Termites: Hidden Threats in Your Home’s Structure

Unlike their subterranean cousins, drywood termites don’t need contact with the soil to survive. These pests live directly inside the wood they consume—be it attic rafters, door frames, furniture, or even picture frames—making them a particularly sneaky threat to South Florida homes. They extract moisture from the wood itself and can thrive in dry, warm conditions, which makes our climate a perfect environment for infestation.
Drywood termite colonies are smaller than subterranean ones, but they often go unnoticed for years, silently hollowing out structural wood from the inside. One telltale sign is the appearance of small piles of “frass,” or droppings, which look like fine wood pellets. Because they don’t rely on ground contact, drywood termites can spread from room to room or structure to structure through infested furniture or untreated wood, making early detection and proper treatment essential to prevent extensive damage.

D.A.T. (Drywood Alternative Treatment)

For localized or early-stage drywood termite infestations, our Drywood Alternative Treatment (D.A.T.) offers a non-invasive solution without the need to vacate your home. This spot-treatment method targets specific areas where termite activity has been detected, using advanced products designed to penetrate the wood and eliminate the colony from within. D.A.T. is ideal for situations where full fumigation isn’t necessary or practical—such as isolated infestations in attics, trim, or furniture. While not suitable for large or widespread infestations, D.A.T. is a convenient, effective option for treating drywood termites with minimal disruption to your daily life.

Whole-Home Fumigation

When drywood termite infestations are extensive or located in hard-to-reach areas, whole-home fumigation is often the most effective treatment option. This method involves enclosing the structure in a tent and introducing a specialized gas that penetrates deep into the wood, eliminating termites throughout the entire home—including those hidden in walls, beams, and furniture.
In addition to targeting drywood termites, fumigation is also highly effective against other wood-destroying insects such as old house borers and powderpost beetles, which can cause similar structural damage if left untreated.
We coordinate the entire process for you—from scheduling and preparation to ensuring the treatment is carried out professionally and efficiently. To make things easier, we provide a step-by-step Fumigation Preparation Video & Fumigation Preparation Checklist so you’ll know exactly what to expect and how to get your home ready for treatment.

We are new to the Port Charlotte area. Our realtor recommended Elite Inspections and Pest Solutions for our property inspection. We were very satisfied with the inspection results and decided to continue with pest control services. That was a good decision. Bruce did the initial treatment and was very thorough and professional. Within a few days we saw ghost ants and immediately called Elite for service. They responded immediately.
Bruce came early the next morning before his already scheduled day and treated the house and surrounding area. We could not be happier with Elite and Bruce’s excellent care of our property.

Old House Borer

The old house borer is a large wood-boring beetle that primarily targets softwoods used in home construction, such as pine and fir. Despite its name, it often infests newer homes as well, especially those less than 10 years old. The larvae can live and feed inside the wood for years, creating deep tunnels and audible clicking sounds. Their activity can significantly compromise the integrity of structural lumber over time.

Identifying Exit Holes

One of the most visible signs of a wood-boring insect infestation is the presence of tiny, round exit holes in wooden surfaces. Powderpost beetles typically leave small, pinhead-sized holes (about 1/32 to 1/16 inch in diameter), while old house borers leave slightly larger, round to oval-shaped holes (about 1/4 inch). These holes are created when adult beetles emerge from the wood, often accompanied by a fine, sawdust-like powder called frass. Spotting these holes early is crucial for identifying and treating infestations before serious structural damage occurs.

Powderpost Beetle

Powderpost beetles are wood-destroying insects that infest and damage hardwoods commonly found in flooring, furniture, and structural timbers. These beetles lay their eggs in cracks of wood, and the larvae bore through the material, leaving behind fine, powder-like frass. Over time, infestations can weaken wooden structures and cause extensive damage if left untreated.
